Stories Inspire Change

The Most Beautiful Home...Maybe is an immersive performance inspired by gatherings of people in real and virtual spaces, that tell stories about housing past, present, and future.

The Most Beautiful Home… Maybe  offers a nerdy and raucous vision for guaranteed housing. Developed from conversations and workshops with housing advocates, activists, developers, and government workers, The Most Beautiful Home… Maybe is a multimedia performance juxtaposing housing data, Lyndon Johnson, torch songs, and stories of Americans facing home insecurity. This show invites us to collectively create housing policies and envision a future where everyone has a home.

There is a mounting need for solutions to our national housing crises. Can theater help solve these challenges?

IRL: Upcoming Performances and Community Engagement Events:

  • MIX Center, Mesa, AZ, at Arizona State University: Early August 2022

Digital Version

The digital version of the show is available for presenting.

This digital premiere of The Most Beautiful Home…Maybe was part of the Network for Energy, Water and Health in Affordable Building’s 2021 online convening “Celebration, Imagination, Activation.” This interactive live performance uses Zoom and Miro concurrently, presenting a unique professional development opportunity for advocates to learn engagement tools and collectively vision the future of housing policy.

Both the digital and IRL performances are ultimately about hope; we invite radical imagination into policy spaces so that together we can take the necessary steps to remediate past injustices, and build a beautiful future where everyone is housed.

“With humor and insight, it took us beyond business as usual, creating cues for problem-solving outside of our usual practices,”
