The Play

The Most Beautiful Home...Maybe

The Most Beautiful Home...Maybe is an immersive performance inspired by gatherings of people in real and virtual spaces, that tell stories about housing past, present, and future.

The Most Beautiful Home…Maybe offers a nerdy and raucous vision for guaranteed housing. This participatory pastiche performance juxtaposes housing data, Lyndon Johnson, torch songs, and stories of Americans facing home insecurity. We invite you to collectively create housing policies and envision a future where everyone has a home.

There is a mounting need for solutions to our national housing crises. Can theater help solve these challenges?

Both the Digital and IRL performances are ultimately about hope; we invite radical imagination into policy spaces so that together we can take the necessary steps to remediate past injustices, and build a beautiful future where everyone is housed.

In Real Life

It was an amazing experience being educated - by each other, really... now it’s for us to do the actual work, and that’s exciting.

-Bruce Lemon, Jr., REDCAT Audience Member

The In Real Life version of the show has been performed in Mesa, Los Angeles, Syracuse, and St. Paul.

Digital

With humor and insight, it took us beyond business as usual, creating cues for problem-solving outside of our usual practices.

-Faith Graham, Managing Director, NEWHAB

This interactive live performance uses Zoom and Miro concurrently, presenting a unique professional development opportunity for advocates to learn engagement tools and collectively vision the future of housing policy.
